HSE Launches Construction Inspections in Manchester – Support Available for Businesses
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has today begun a series of unannounced inspections across Manchester city centre as part of its national initiative to tackle ill-health in the construction industry.
Twelve inspectors will visit a range of sites – from large-scale developments to smaller projects – to review how effectively businesses are managing key health and safety risks. The inspections will focus particularly on:
Asbestos
Dust
Noise
Musculoskeletal disorders
Health surveillance
These visits form part of approximately 14,000 inspections being carried out nationwide by the HSE during the current financial year, with around 8,000 specifically targeting health-related issues in the workplace.
A spokesperson from John Green Health & Safety Ltd said:
“With HSE inspections now underway in Manchester, it’s essential that construction businesses ensure they have the right measures in place to protect their workforce and meet their legal obligations.
Our team is here to help organisations prepare for inspections, liaise directly with the HSE on their behalf, and implement any necessary remedial actions following a visit.”
John Green Health & Safety Ltd offers tailored support to help businesses achieve and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. This includes inspection readiness assessments, documentation reviews, and practical guidance to strengthen workplace health management systems.
