HSE 2017

During 2017 as well as monitoring and upholding all relevant safety laws and regulations, the HSE will be looking at construction and manufacturing health, for example, the short and long term effects of dusts, COSHH and disease.

We can offer training and the implementation of safe sytems of work to ensure compliance with these regulations.

Fire

Fire training, Fire warden training and Emergency Prepardness training can be provided to companies and employees. Our company has carried out various fire training for manufacturing companies, large retail stores, factories, hotel groups etc.

The number of fines in 2016 increased dramatically as a result of safety breaches and the number of injuries rose due to non compliance. This resulted in company fines of between £450,000 and £1 million, some larger companies have seen fines of up to £5 million.

Construction and Manufacturing

Whilst inspecting the HSE is now prioritising two particular categories of hazardous materials; carcinogens and sensitisers.

Under CDM 2015 construction, the requirements prior to work commencing are that companies must have; a site safety file, risk assessments, methods statements , a construction phase plan and must notify the HSE to inform them that the project is to start. This includes some domestic works.

Notification is required if the project is over 30 days or there are 20 persons on site or if the work is over 500 man hours.

Our company can work with clients to set up construction phase plans, health and safety site files (required under construction CDM 2015). Once the site is set up, we offer weekly site visits and reports, carry out TBT (tool box talks) and address any issues/concerns whilst on site. A written follow up report is provided to the client and site manager, this will continue throughout the life of the site. On completion of the work an O & M file is provided for the site. The O & M file will contain all information relevant to the build and Health and Safety, as built drawings, maintenance and service information, instructions for mechanical and engineering etc. The fie should be kept as a record for all future works or maintenance that may be required.

On a visit to site, the HSE will expect all of the above to be in place. In addition the client will need to ensure that all risk assessments, method statements, inductions, training, lifting plans, weekly inspection records and all other safety and welfare information is in place. All of which can be carried out by our company.
